Monitoring – Redress for survivors of the Magdalene Laundries.

Marcella represented victims who had suffered abuse in Residential Institutions when a redress scheme was set up by the government in 2002. That was a scheme which was run by the Residential Institutions Redress Board to make awards to persons who, as children, were abused while resident in industrial schools, reformatories and other institutions subject to state regulation and or inspection.
